Monday February 26 2007
Reds on the Road to RecoveryThe Reds could be back to almost full strength in less than a month - in time for their last three home games in the Super 14 - following several encouraging medical reports on Monday.
Scrum-half Sam Cordingley (ankle) is targeting the March 16 match against the Force in Perth, hooker Stephen Moore (knee) is an outside chance of facing the Highlanders in Dunedin a week earlier on March 9 and big-hitting lock Hugh McMeniman (ankle) may have his first training run on Tuesday.
Inside centre Andrew Brown (ribs) could also be fit in time for the Highlanders game.
However Wallaby tighthead prop Greg Holmes has shown no improvement after his partial shoulder dislocation against the Brumbies and will be seeing a specialist on Tuesday.
His replacement Ben Coutts suffered a shoulder dislocation against the Blues last Saturday, but Jones says he is a still a 50-50 chance of playing in this Saturday's Suncorp Stadium match against the Lions.
Inside centre Peter Hynes (ankle) is another 50-50 chance, after coming off at half-time against the Blues.
Prop Anthony Mathison has been training regularly while recovering from a neck operation and will be resuming full contact work this week
